About the role  

We're seeking a Senior Procurement Manager – Customer & Corporate Services who will be responsible for leading the Customer & Corporate Services procurement portfolio, including developing and executing portfolio and category management strategies.  
  

You'll join an innovative team, where you are leading and supporting a team of procurement managers and specialists to deliver Customer & Corporate Services spend initiatives ensuring we leverage the best commercial outcomes across Transurban. 

As our Senior Procurement Manager – Customer & Corporate Services, you'll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It's meaningful, challenging and exciting work.  

Day-to-day, you will:  

  • Have responsibility for the end-to-end procurement process, related to the Customer & Corporate Services spend category of Transurban 

  • Provide leadership, support and delivery of end-to-end procurement process including stakeholder engagement, strategy development, baseline validation tender management, supplier negotiations, contract finalisation and stakeholder interactions during and after the sourcing process 

  • Drive category management by developing and implementing portfolio and category management strategies and plans  

  • Exceed cost saving targets through the effective identification of opportunities, construction of a savings plan and the successful execution of strategic procurement initiatives 

  • Ensure that supplier spend visibility and strategic analysis is undertaken regularly across the Customer & Corporate Services spend categories 

  • Build overall confidence to support the Procurement strategy and delivery of Transurban objectives and desired outcomes 

  • Understand the broader Transurban strategy and requirements and how these impact the business unit objectives and desired outcomes 

  • Develop strong relationships with internal teams and senior leadership 

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:  

  • Proven, extensive procurement experience 

  • Bachelor's degree required (business or engineering background preferred) 

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering strategic portfolio and category plans for Customer & Corporate Services categories, and proven proficiency across major spend categories 

  • Demonstrated experience negotiating with top tier Customer & Corporate Services suppliers 

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of category management, and proven proficiency managing major spend categories 

  • Demonstrated ability to engage the business, determine requirements and deliver a strategy 

  • Track record of contributing to evolution of supply chain processes, and/or continuous improvement of strategic sourcing and category management programs 

  • Strong analytical, business process analysis and problem-solving capabilities 

  • Proven negotiation and contract management skills, including a strong understanding of business and legal terms and conditions 

  • A proven people leader and strong relationship builder who enjoys drawing upon and sharing knowledge across the team and broader business with a focus on achieving overall business goals
