We are seeking a Casual Maintenance Assistant to support the smooth running of our aged care facility and independent living units. In this hands-on role, you'll help us create and maintain a comfortable, homelike environment where our residents can live with dignity, safety, and independence.

You'll be part of a friendly, supportive team that cares about both people and place—ensuring our buildings, gardens, and outdoor areas are well looked after.

What you'll be doing:

Carrying out general maintenance and repair tasks

Assisting with scheduled upkeep to keep our spaces safe and appealing

Maintaining external cleanliness of the facility and grounds

Responding to maintenance requests and assisting with repairs

Following safe work practices, PPE use, and manual handling procedures

Helping residents feel at home by maintaining a secure and welcoming environment

What we're looking for:

A hands-on, proactive approach to maintenance and repairs

Basic knowledge of building upkeep, gardening, or general handyman skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Understanding of (or willingness to learn) health and safety practices

Manual driver's license preferred

Current Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)

Ideally you will have an up-to-date flu vaccination and at least 2 COVID vaccinations

Most importantly, you'll bring a positive attitude and a genuine commitment to supporting the wellbeing of older people.
