About Us
Abergeldie is a majority Australian owned civil contractor with over 30 years' experience delivering water, utilities, bridges, roads, rail, energy and community infrastructure projects. Our commitment to excellence, innovation and sustainability has positioned us as an industry leader, delivering the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.
We're on an exciting growth journey. We have recently tripled in size, and with more than $2.8B of work in hand and a goal to double revenue to $1.2B by 2030, we're expanding our Pre-Contracts team and investing in the capability needed to support that growth.
About The Opportunity
We are looking for a talented and experienced Submissions Manager to join our Pre Contracts team and lead submissions on major infrastructure bids.
As our Submissions Manager, you'll play a visible role advising leaders, mentoring Coordinators and Writers and shaping how we win work. This is a strategic and hands-on role where you will collaborate with subject matter experts, lead, write and edit submissions and turn technical content into persuasive, client-focused tenders. You will also act as an advisor to the business on win themes, strategy and positioning. Day to day you will;
- Lead the end-to-end submissions process, partnering with bid leads and senior stakeholders on major pursuits.
- Shape win themes and bid strategies, ensuring submissions align with client drivers and positions Abergeldie competitively.
- Mentor and guide Coordinators and Writers, helping to build capability and consistency across bids.
- Develop and refine templates and content libraries, with a focus on non-project components.
- Drive improvements in knowledge capture, lessons learned and bid workflows.
In this role you'll be trusted as a mentor and advisor, with clear opportunities and pathways into team management as our Pre Contracts team continues to grow.
The role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane with hybrid work options available.
What You'll Bring To The Team
- Experience leading end-to-end submissions processes, from early positioning through to final delivery, with a proven ability to produce compelling, high-quality submissions that clearly articulate the organisation's unique value proposition.
- Experience within the construction, infrastructure or built environment sectors.
- Relevant qualifications in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas and collaborate with subject matter experts to craft clear, persuasive and client-focused proposals.
- A natural ability to mentor and support Coordinators and Writers, helping others build capability while setting the standard through your own work.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple bids to tight deadlines.
- Confidence to lead review meetings and manage senior stakeholders.
- A collaborative style and the ability to build trusted relationships across the business.
Why you should work with us
At Abergeldie, you'll have the chance to work on high-profile infrastructure projects that make a real difference in communities across Australia and New Zealand. We value the people who choose to build their careers with us and we support them with mentoring, professional development and genuine opportunities for progression. You'll be part of a supportive team where your contributions are recognised, and you'll share in our success through the Abergeldie Bonus Scheme.
Interested? Lets connect
This is more than a submissions role. It's a chance to mentor, influence and shape how we win work and support the next chapter of Abergeldie's growth.
If you're ready to make an impact, apply now or contact Hayley Urriola at to learn more.
If this role isn't quite what you're looking for, we'd still encourage you to apply. We are building our team and have opportunities across varying levels.
