An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced OSHC Assistance Coordinator to be part of the team at the Kenmore State School P&C Association Outside School Hours Care (OSHC). The service provides before and after school care, plus vacation care and is licensed for up to 150 children.

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Coordinator with a passion for providing high quality childcare to oversee and be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of nominated areas in our OSHC service. The position will be a mix of a contact and non-contact hours and duties. This position will focus on assisting the OSHC Director with maintaining and managing the service's QIP and assisting with administrative and management tasks. The role will also include being rostered as the responsible person in charge of ensuring compliant operations throughout our ASC sessions.

This is a permanent part-time position of 25 hours per week that would be most suited to a person who is seeking a long-term career in OSHC. Our service is closed over a two-week Christmas period.

About the program

The OSHC Program includes gardening, art and crafts, sport, indoor and outdoor games and cooking. In terms 1 and 4 (and during summer vacation care) children at after school care may swim. We have a diverse range of environments that cater to all children and their needs. About you

You will be a passionate Diploma qualified or higher educator committed to delivering a superior service for children and their parents.

• Minimum 2 years experience working in a childcare setting, former leadership role experience desirable.
• Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and the ability to maintain a Quality Improvement Plan and implement related policies and procedures.
• Strong understanding of the My Time Our place learning framework.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as work with initiative and have independent decision-making skills.
• High degree of interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
• Provide support to the Educational Leader in delivering the educational program and meeting My Time Our Place outcomes and objectives.
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and our local communities, including the school community.
• Mentor and support educators in delivering high quality care and engaging activities to enhance learning.
• Ensuring service operational compliance with all sector regulations and licencing requirements.
• Be available to work Monday to Friday between 2:00pm to 6:15pm as well as some additional admin hours totalling 25hrs per week.

Qualifications and Licenses

• Diploma in Early Childhood/Children's services/OSHC or equivalent
• Current Working With Children check (WWC).
• First Aid Certificate
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate
• Anaphylaxis and Asthma Qualifications
• National Police Clearance Certificate or willing to obtain one.
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa
• Child Protection certification or willingness to obtain upon commencement
