Adelaide Royal Show Game Attendant

We are currently recruiting game attendants for the Royal Adelaide Show 2024 which runs 30th August-7th September t located at Adelaide Showgrounds.

The shifts vary in hours, and due to the unpredictable nature of the event, applicants will need to make themselves available to work at all times during the event, therefore if you are not available during any period, this position will NOT be suitable for you.

You MAY finish your shift late at night (between 9-11pm) and/or start as early as 9am, so please be prepared to travel at these times.

A roster will be provided at the beginning of the event, but is subject to change with little notice.

About the role

Are you friendly, outgoing, hard working and reliable?

You need to be well presented, reliable, highly focused in your attitude to helping customers and able to work in a very busy environment. Your level of English and communication skills needs to be at the highest level (must be fluent in English) and have the ability to engage with all types of customers to generate a positive customer experience and outcome.

Joylands has supplied Royal Shows with the prestigious Pirates Revenge, Rockin' Tug ride and Power Surge thrill rides. Also the Jurrasic Coaster & Fantasy Cups previously. Our rides are capital show multi award winners. We hope to continue providing the Royal Shows with more award winning amusements, Including BATTLE AXE.

In this Application you are applying to work on the Battle Axe, The Funnest Axe Game in the country. Applicants must be outgoing and willing to share commentating on the microphone to bring excitement to the game and create a fun atmosphere. Commentating and What to expect:

• Enthusiasm: Ramp It Up One of the most important things in commentary is having a passion for what you're doing.
• Picture-Painting: Say What You See The most basic thing is to tell us what you're seeing. Your tools are your voice and your words will help you stand out so think very carefully about that.
• Delivery: Make It Slick Make sure your voice rises and falls to reflect the excitement of what's happening in front of you. There are always quiet moments in games, but it's important to follow the atmosphere using your voice with commentary. volume and energy are all important things to vary in good commentary.

APPLICANTS MUST HAVE

· Working With Children's Check (Paid Version)

• Willing to speak on a microphone or willing to learn

·Can endure long hours

·Can handle physically demanding tasks (such as standing on feet 8+hours)

·Flexible to work anytime and at short notice

· Own transport or access to public transport to and from the Showgrounds

· Fluent English, excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work in a team

· Excellent time management and quick thinking

· Ability to follow procedures

· Sense of humour

· Overseas applicants will require a working holiday visa (WHV) and an Australian Tax File Number (TFN)

Duties/responsibilities

• Customer service and possible money handling or Point of Sale Machines

• Assisting patrons

• Adherence WH&S procedures

• Adherence to uniform guidelines

• Cleaning of amusement equipment
