Job Description
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will bridge the gap between data engineering and business analysis, combining technical analytics expertise with domain knowledge. Analytics engineers are responsible for transforming raw data into reliable, well-modeled datasets that enable self-service analytics for both operational and strategic decision-making.
Operating as a embedded data business partner, you will design, implement, and manage end-to-end data solutions with a primary focus on supporting business performance analysis and decision-making within a specific function (e.g., Finance, Sales, Marketing, Product). This role requires both the technical discipline of an analytics engineer and the business acumen to understand the assigned function, while collaborating closely with stakeholders as an embedded technical expert.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to analyse and prioritise business requirements, ensure effective delivery of analytics solutions in a manner that provides clarity and conviction
- Design and maintain datasets powering analytics and reporting across global teams
- Develop key data products including data models, visualisations, dashboards, and integrations to support the assigned function
- Build reliable data pipelines and systems integrations using modern data stack (Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, Looker)
- Ensure data integrity, pipeline robustness and accurate reporting across business metrics and KPI tracking
- Perform deep-dive data analysis for high impact initiatives
- Develop self-service analytics capabilities enabling stakeholders to independently access insights
Qualifications
Key Requirements
- 5+ years of Data/analytics engineering or senior data analyst role with strong technical experience
- Exposure to domain-specific data (e.g., finance, sales, marketing, product) preferred
- Modern data warehouse modelling and analytics engineering practices
- Leading data analytics initiatives with business stakeholders
- Strong SQL and modern data warehouse experience
- Self-service BI tools with semantic layer (Looker, Superset)
- Experience with modern data stack (dbt, Fivetran etc) and analytics engineering best practices
- Ability to understand and model domain-specific business metrics
- Familiarity with common business systems (e.g., Salesforce, Netsuite, Marketo, HubSpot, etc.) depending on function
