Senior Analytics Engineer ( dbt / Airflow / Snowflake )

$130-150k base plus super

Sydney / Hybrid

Join a high-performing data team as a Senior Analytics Engineer, where you'll play a key role in designing, building, and optimising scalable data models and pipelines that power analytics and decision-making across the business. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves working with the modern data stack and enjoys collaborating closely with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to turn data into insights that drive impact.

This is with a scaling retail firm who have an appetite for all things modern data. Whilst the role definitely lends itself well to that of an engineer (requires both strong data modelling, engineering capabilities plus the ability to communicate insights to drive value) you may be required to wear multiple hats within the Data and BI lifecycle

Responsibilities for the
Senior Analytics Engineer ( dbt / Airflow / Snowflake )
include :

  • Design, build, and maintain modular, testable, and scalable data pipelines using dbt Core and Airflow
  • Develop and optimise data models in Snowflake, ensuring performance and data quality
  • Collaborate with data and business teams to define requirements and deliver analytics-ready datasets
  • Partner with BI and product teams to deliver insights through Looker or Omni
  • Implement best practices in data governance, documentation, and testing
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data workflows and team standards

Required experience for the
Senior Analytics Engineer ( dbt / Airflow / Snowflake )
includes :

  • 4+ years' experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles
  • Hands-on experience with dbt Core, Airflow, and Snowflake
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modelling (Dimensional / ELT)
  • Experience with BI tools such as Looker or Omni
  • Familiarity with modern data practices, version control, and CI/CD workflows
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable partnering with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
