Overview
About the role
As the primary in-team specialist for technical claims and Workers Compensation knowledge, in the Technical Manager position you will use your unique skill set to provide coaching and mentoring to claims staff with relation to complex claims matters.
You will also use your knowledge of Workers Compensation legislation to review and endorse claims decisions, liaise with legal parties relating to claims disputes, undertake various calculations relating to compensation, and provide technical reviews for claims management strategies.
How you'll make an impactYour responsibilities will include:
Applying your specialist Workers Compensation technical knowledge to claims of a complex nature, and acting as a technical reference point for other team members such as Case Managers and Senior Case ManagersGuiding, advising and assisting employer clients who require specialist technical assistanceInteracting with and providing instructions to Legal Panel Firms within the required timeframes on all pre-litigated and litigated mattersProviding employers, employer consultants and other involved parties with updates in relation to litigated mattersUndertaking adverse decision quality revisions and endorsementsCompleting case conferencing with Case Managers and attending claims review meetings when requiredUndertaking pre-conciliation checks, assisting with strategy considerations and attending conciliation conferences as requiredMentoring and coaching other members of your teamAbout youWe're interested in hearing from people who possess:
Experience within the Worker's Compensation industry and in the application of Work Cover legislationAbility to interpret and apply Accident Compensation ActFantastic customer service skillsExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsExperience in client service roleCoaching, mentoring, and leadership skillsBachelor of Law Degree and/or Industry Related Qualifications will be idealWhat we can offer you:
