ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a mining and metals company that produce bauxite, aluminium, copper, silver, lead, zinc, nickel and manganese across Australia and Africa. This mine is an open-cut, strip mining operation that produced manganese based on Groote Eylandt.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
You will be working as a Weed Control Operator on Groote Eylandt. You will be responsible for weed and pest control, mowing, outdoor labouring and safe operating of an LR or MR truck around GEMCOS mining infrastructure. These roles are open to FIFO candidates based in Cairns or Darwin and residential candidates based on Groote Eylandt. Residential candidates will work a 4/3 Day shift only roster while FIFO candidates will work a 7/7 day shift only roster, both working 10 hour shifts.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Previous experience in weed control, mowing, outdoors labouring.
- Previous experience with traffic management and qualifications
- Agricultural Chemical Certification (Weed/Chemicals ticket) - preferred
- Certificate in Arboriculture, Certificate in Horticulture or Certificate in Conservation Land Management
- Current LR or higher Drivers Licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical & drug and alcohol
- Right to work in Australia
