About the Role
As Payroll & HR Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the staff lifecycle, ensuring that every employee experience—from recruitment to ongoing employment—is smooth, consistent, and aligned with Jabiru's values. Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering fortnightly payroll for employees across multiple awards with accuracy and compliance.
- Processing superannuation, leave, salary packaging, and workers compensation in accordance with legislation and organisational policy.
- Maintaining audit-ready employee records, including Blue Cards, qualifications, contracts, and compliance documentation.
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding, ensuring all mandatory checks and documentation are completed prior to commencement.
- Assisting managers and staff with payroll, leave, and HR enquiries, providing professional advice and guidance.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across payroll and HR processes.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience in end-to-end payroll administration, with strong knowledge of modern awards, Fair Work legislation, and payroll compliance.
- Proven ability to manage timesheet and award-based payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Strong numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and payroll systems.
- Current Paid Blue Card (or ability to obtain).
Desirable
- Experience in the community, education, or childcare sector.
- Expertise in Employment Hero/KeyPay Payroll and HRIS systems.
- Prior HR administration experience, including onboarding and compliance.
- Familiarity with the Children's Services Award.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Payroll, HR, Business, or Accounting (or equivalent experience).
