Downer Rail and Transit Systems (RTS) is proud to be a leading provider of Rollingstock assets and management in Australia. We are now looking for an Operations Improvement Manager to join our site-based team in Pakenham Victoria 

Reporting directly to the National Operations Excellence Manager, you will have the opportunity to implement meaningful change and improvement initiatives at our VIC Sites

Utilising previous experience and approach to LEAN you will work in collaboration with multi-disciplined stakeholders across our Victorian sites:

  • Operational Excellence through continuous improvement (CI) activities
  • Drive special initiatives to improve the site's operational performance, productivity, and projects execution.
  • Identify waste in critical processes and formulate improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate, adopt and share Best Practices with the organisation
  • Mentor teams and individuals to generate continuous improvement ideas and LEAN ways of working.

We are a leading provider of rollingstock asset management services in Australia, with a rich history in the rail industry and world class expertise in house that deliver whole-of-life asset management support to our customers. Our capability allows us to offer turnkey solutions for complex projects and spans every project phase, from design and manufacture to through-life-support, condition monitoring and data analytics, fleet maintenance, operations and comprehensive overhaul of assets.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar higher-level Certificate
  • Six Sigma LEAN Manufacturing qualification or equivalent (highly desirable.)
  • Possess 6-8 years of experience in a similar/relevant role.
  • Exposure to and a working knowledge of project and process management, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, Kaizen facilitation, and relevant CI tools.
  • Technically competent with data analysis and data presentation would be desirable.
  • Experience in Rollingstock Operations or equivalent Manufacturing industry, across various functions will be desirable
