Residential Support Worker

Melbourne VIC, Australia 274 Homebound Pty Ltd Full time $60,000 - $80,000 per year

About the role

The role involves supporting the safety, wellbeing, and emotional and physical development of trauma-impacted young people living in out-of-home care. You will be responsible for providing consistent, high-quality day-to-day care, acting as a positive role model, and offering guidance and supervision within the home.

While the position comes with its challenges, it is also deeply rewarding – giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference and contribute to positive change in a young person's life.

This is a casual position, with the potential for successful carers to pick up regular, ongoing weekly shifts.

What we are looking for

A dedicated Support Worker who sees this work as more than just a job – it's a calling. While you hold the required qualifications, what truly sets you apart are the qualities that can't be taught: compassion, empathy, creativity, common sense, and a great sense of humour.

You know this role comes with challenges, yet your commitment never wavers because you understand the impact your support has on young peoples' lives. You value connection, trust, and engagement – and that means you won't be spending your shifts "hiding in the office."

Reliability is important to you, and you're open to working regular shifts across mornings, active nights, and weekends.

You will also need the following qualifications and clearances:

  • Updated Resume (Including 2x contactable referees)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working With Children Check (Employee)
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
  • Current Australian Driver's License
  • Passport and/or Medicare
  • Rights to work in Australia (visa if applicable)
  • Cert IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention

  • Care – we look after our team so you can focus on caring for our clients.

If this approach doesn't resonate with you, we may not be the right fit. But if it does, we'd love to welcome you to our team.

  • Supporting young people with varying needs
  • Providing 24/7 care (day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts available)
  • Pay rate starts at $47ph
