We're searching for a passionate, skilled Bistro Chef to take charge of our members-only bistro and deliver consistently high-quality, modern bistro fare.

Located at the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron on St Kilda Beach, this is a full-time, hands-on role with a stable Wednesday to Sunday roster. You'll be leading day-to-day kitchen operations for our à la carte bistro service, separate from our private events which are managed by our Event Head Chef.


What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading daily kitchen service for the bistro
  • Executing a seasonal, flavour-driven menu
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen
  • Upholding food safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Contributing to menu development and daily specials
  • Mentoring and training junior cooks and kitchen hands

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Chef or Lead Cook in a bistro, café, or gastro pub
  • Confident across all kitchen sections – grill, pans, larder
  • Passion for seasonal produce and quality ingredients
  • Calm under pressure and consistent during busy service
  • Strong time management, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Team player with a positive attitude and leadership presence
