About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and creative professional to join our team as Business & Community Development Lead.

This is a dynamic, hands-on leadership role working closely with the Director to transform ideas into structured action and measurable outcomes.

You'll drive My Gain's growth through business development, marketing, partnerships, and community engagement, helping to strengthen our Deaf Heart mission and expand our national presence.

This role is ideal for someone with strong IT, marketing, and sales experience who thrives in a flexible, purpose-driven workplace.

Note: This role leads projects and initiatives but does not have direct staff supervision responsibilities.

Australian citizenship is required for this position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director to plan and deliver business and community initiatives.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations.
  • Lead marketing, outreach, and engagement campaigns that reflect Deaf culture and inclusion.
  • Use digital tools and IT systems to improve efficiency and brand visibility.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, partners, and community networks.
  • Support growth and innovation through strategic project planning and coordination.

Skills and Experience

  • Fluent in Auslan and deep understanding of Deaf culture and communication.
  • Proven success in business development, sales, or marketing roles.
  • Strong IT skills – proficient in Microsoft 365, Canva, CRM systems, and social media tools.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of the disability support sector, including NDIS funding and service models.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships.
  • Strong organisational and project-management skills.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, or Digital Marketing (or a related field).
  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in business development, partnerships, or stakeholder management (preferably within NDIS, community, or health sectors).

Desirable

  • Experience in NDIS service delivery or interpreter coordination.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing analytics (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics).
  • Strategic and creative problem-solving abilities.
