Position: WHS/Compliance Officer

Location: Marland Mushrooms Farm, Stapylton Qld

As a Safety/Compliance Officer, you will be the driving force in maintaining our commitment to a safe and compliant workplace, by fostering a culture of safety and responsibility.

About the Role:

  • Permanent part time or full-time position - 4 or 5 days per week.

Your role will include:

  • Plan, implement, and review OHS policies and programs.
  • Advise and guide employees and managers on safety-related topics.
  • Conduct risk assessments and maintain the risk register.
  • Conduct and lead workplace inspections and incident investigations.
  • Prepare and conduct safety training for all departments.
  • Ensure all staff are trained in company safety inductions, SOPs, and role-specific procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records and registers, including Accident/Incident Register
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to WHS policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Participate in HACCP team activities and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Conduct routine WHS quality and traceability audits.
  • Lead Safety Committee Meetings keeping relevant accurate records
  • Ensure incidents are reported promptly and assist with corrective actions.
  • Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective measures.
  • Provide ongoing safety guidance and support to teams and individuals.
  • Act as a role model, demonstrating safe work behaviours.
  • Consult with workers and WHS representatives to address safety issues.

We're looking for someone with:

  • WHS Qualification (Minimum Cert IV in WHS)
  • Proven experience in workplace health and safety roles.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS regulations, HACCP principles, and food safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in conducting training and risk assessments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and record-keeping systems.
