Bloom Gardens Melbourne is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Gardener to join our growing gardening and landscaping business.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of our services to our valued clients across Melbourne's inner East, Southeast, Bayside, Mornington Peninsula and surrounding areas.

This is a full-time position, based out of our Moorabbin office.

What you'll be doing

  • Put safety first, and embed OH&S practices at all times.
  • Lead teams of 2-3 gardeners, applying your deep knowledge and experience to deliver each job to achieve time and quality requirements.
  • Mentor and train our apprentice Horticulturalists, who rotate between our Senior Gardeners to gain a broad set of knowledge and experience.
  • Manage your take-home vehicle, keeping it organised and clean.
  • Take ownership of your allocated tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and maintained as needed.
  • Our typical working hours are between 7am and 3pm, Monday through Friday. Time is scheduled for regular upkeep of vehicles and tools.
  • Our full-time support team provide you with a clear job description, scheduling, customer communication, vehicle, tools, material supplies and all other administrative help needed.

What we're looking for

  • Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Horticulture with a minimum of 2 years experience working in residential gardens.
  • Valid Australian driver's licence required (manual licence preferred).
  • Must have permanent right to work in Australia and be willing to undergo police background check.
  • Current chemical handling certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Physical fitness to perform manual labour, lifting, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
