The Role & Project
MACA (OPMS Cambodia) are seeking a Drill & Blast Supervisor for a permanent, full-time opportunity on a FIFO 4 week on, 2 week off roster flying into Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Okvau Gold Project is located in the Mondulkiri province of eastern Cambodia, approximately 275km north-east of the capital city, Phnom Penh.

Key Result Areas Include

  • Effective utilisation of personnel and equipment to meet production plans and targets.
  • Communicate drill and blast requirements at pre-start meetings.
  • Coordinate work-crew responsibilities ensuring employees are aware of changes and are competent to carry out tasks.
  • Ensure all employees understand and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental working procedures.
  • Provide technical advice/ expertise on Drill and Blast operations and deliver training and guidance to personnel as required.
  • Carry out blast notifications and clearances.
  • Monitor shift performance to ensure drill and blast targets are met and take appropriate action to maintain targets.
  • Report any significant deviation from the drilling and blasting plans to the Project Manager in writing on the shift report.
  • Ensure the transport of blasting materials is in accordance with statutory regulations in a purpose designed vehicle.
  • Carry out accident/incident investigations as required.
  • Liaise with the Workshop Manager to plan scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Undertake scheduled audits and inspections of magazine and facility.
  • Commitment, respect and compliance to the MACA safety, health and environment policies, 'zero harm' objective, STAR program, Fitness For Work policy and MACA's vision and core values.
  • Build effective and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • A demonstrated track record of fostering safety in the workplace.
  • Proven experience as a Drill & Blast Supervisor, leading and mentoring teams effectively to drive performance outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in open pit mining within a Nickel, Copper, Gold, Lithium or Iron ore background highly regarded.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must, allowing you to build relationships across the team and departments.
