We're on the lookout for an experienced Drill and Blast Engineer to join our team on a high-performing open cut operation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to drive safe and efficient drill and blast practices while working an 8/6 FIFO roster.

About the Role:

  • 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth
  • Competitive pay: $120 to $150/hr, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement drill and blast plans to meet operational targets
  • Monitor and reconcile drilling and blasting performance
  • Partner with site operations to promote safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure environmental standards are met through safe blasting practices
  • Work closely with the execution team to ensure effective implementation of plans
  • Analyse and validate technical data to support reporting and future planning
  • Apply technical knowledge across vibration control, flyrock management, wall protection, and related blasting techniques
  • Utilise mining and blasting software (e.g. Vulcan, BlastLogic) for design, analysis, and reporting

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related field (preferred, but not essential)
  • Prior experience in drill and blast operations or mine planning highly regarded
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Competent in open cut mine design and drill/blast methodologies
  • Proficient in Vulcan, BlastLogic, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and safe work practices
  • Solid understanding of blasting safety standards and environmental compliance
  • Manual C Class Driver's Licence required
