What You'll Be Doing

As a Turf Maintenance Officer, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day care of turf and surrounding park facilities. Your duties will include:

  • Operating turf maintenance equipment such as ride-on mowers, edgers, brush cutters, and blowers.
  • Performing grass edging, litter removal, and tidying of paths, kerbs, playgrounds, and courts.
  • Managing weeds and grass around trees and park furniture using physical or chemical methods.
  • Implementing pedestrian safety and traffic management measures.
  • Supporting minor infrastructure maintenance and asset audits.
  • Maintaining tools and equipment in safe, clean working condition.
  • Accurately completing work records and participating in team rotations for a multi-skilled approach.

Must-Haves

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience using turf care equipment and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and initiative.
  • Current MR class driver's licence.
  • Current Basic Work Site Traffic Management Certificate.
  • Valid Construction Induction 'White' Card.
  • Pest Management and Chemical Application certification.
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate.
  • Certificate III in Sports Turf Management or equivalent (desirable).
  • Chainsaw competency (desirable).
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various conditions and undergo a pre-employment medical.
