City Finance provides quick, fast loans to Aussies who are often ignored by mainstream banks. We're a small, collaborative team looking for a hands-on Marketing Manager to help us sharpen our position in a crowded market, convert more leads, and build meaningful connections with customers.

Role snapshot

  • Status: Permanent part time (10–20 hours/week, flexible)
  • Location: Remote-first (ability to attend our Brisbane office occasionally is an advantage)
  • Reports to: Head of Operations

What you'll do

  • Own the marketing strategy and quarterly plan; recommend budget allocation across paid/owned channels.
  • Monitor customer acquisition cost (CAC) across multiple channels and recommend where to shift spend for best ROI.
  • Monitor Google Ads campaign data (run by our agency), provide insights, and flag optimisation opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for developing strategies to increase lead conversion across all channels.
  • Help position City Finance clearly in a crowded lending market, identifying ways to differentiate and strengthen our brand presence.
  • Take the sole lead on content creation, including:
  • EDMs (customer lifecycle/nurture, promotions)
  • SMS (targeted offers, service notifications)
  • Social media (organic + paid support)
  • Blog/SEO (customer education, product content)
  • Oversee customer communications end-to-end (tone, compliance alignment, QA).
  • Track overall marketing performance, report results, and suggest improvements.

What you'll bring

  • A strong writing ability — you can craft clear, engaging content across EDMs, SMS, social media, and blogs.
  • Google Ads knowledge/experience — enough to interpret data, identify opportunities, and keep the agency accountable.
  • Proven ability to develop strategies that increase lead conversion and sharpen brand positioning.
  • Comfortable taking full ownership of content creation without reliance on agencies or freelancers.
  • HubSpot experience is an advantage (email, CRM, workflows, reporting).
  • Suggested: 3+ years in a digital marketing role (open to strong candidates with equivalent experience).
