ABOUT THE ROLE
The Account Manager is responsible for championing service and selling to customers within the region. This is a hands-on role, combining customer relationship building, customer acquisition, quoting, ordering, special order pricing and purchasing and the general administration involved in looking after Trade customers.
The role is accountable for growing the Trade based business, through sales development activities as well as ensuring the delivery of day-to-day sales and support to our customers.
The Account Manager will report to the Branch Manager who will provide coaching and development to ensure you are growing the role. You will be part of a high performing Trade branch team delivering quality and on-time products to our customers and builders. You will need to have the ability to work across whole of project offer and where necessary embrace the requirement to learn new skills. Be part of the one team culture and its success.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Act as the central point of contact for Trade Sales, offering advice and sales support to Trade customers.
- Prepare, deliver, and follow up on quotes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Research, quote, and follow through with special orders, addressing both price and non-stocked goods.
- Complete orders and ensure goods are ready for collection or delivery within the agreed timeframes.
- Undertake pricing and advise customers on stock availability or provide alternative solutions if necessary.
- Ensure all company procedures are followed, particularly regarding the receipting and invoicing of goods.
- Manage existing Trade relationships by building profiles for each key customer and understanding their requirements.
- Respond to customer inquiries, demonstrating appropriate product knowledge and providing technical information as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- 5+ years' experience in a similar sales role managing customer relationships.
- Hold a current Driver's Licence (mandatory).
- A background in Building, Construction or Trades (preferred).
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Proven record of exceeding sales targets within a competitive sector
- Outgoing and team orientated with excellent influencing, problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- CRM experience (preferred).
