Position Summary
The Logistics Manager will oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of building materials and equipment across multiple construction sites. The role involves strategic planning, supplier negotiation, inventory control, and team leadership to ensure operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor supply chain and distribution strategies aligned with project requirements
- Forecast and plan inventory levels to ensure continuity of supply while controlling costs
- Negotiate supply agreements that meet delivery schedules, pricing targets, and quality benchmarks
- Oversee stock control systems and ensure accuracy of inventory and delivery records
- Coordinate with site supervisors, trades, and subcontractors to schedule material deliveries
- Ensure logistics operations are compliant with WHS and environmental standards
- Track stock movement, deliveries, and usage using recording systems and project management software
- Supervise logistics support staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project timelines and client expectations
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, construction management, or related field
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a logistics or procurement role, ideally within the construction sector
- Strong negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills
- Experience using inventory tracking software and Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of applicable WHS standards and regulatory requirements in construction logistics
