Opened in late 2022, Inter/Section is a vibrant all-day venue in Brisbane's Midtown Centre, bridging 155 Charlotte Street and 150 Mary Street. The space brings together café, patisserie, and restaurant elements in one cohesive concept

As we head into an exciting phase of growth, we're looking for a talented Junior Sous or Sous Chef to join our kitchen team and help drive what's next.

The Role
This is a hands-on leadership position working closely with the Head Chef to deliver a polished, seasonal food offering across multiple outlets. You'll also take the lead on days when the Head Chef is off, managing service and guiding the team with confidence and clarity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee kitchen operations and lead service in the Head Chef's absence

  • Support menu planning, prep systems, and quality control

  • Maintain kitchen efficiency, cleanliness, and food safety compliance (HACCP)

  • Collaborate with suppliers to source premium seasonal produce

  • Mentor junior chefs and help maintain a positive, productive kitchen culture

  • Support costing, stock control, and kitchen reporting

  • Contribute to events, catering menus, and collaborative food experiences

About You

  • Experience as a Junior Sous, Sous Chef or strong CDP ready to step up

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Calm and organised under pressure

  • Keen eye for detail and quality

  • Curious, creative, and in tune with modern Australian food
