The Opportunity

As a Cloud Engineer at Dingo, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and sustaining the cloud infrastructure that powers mission-critical mining operations across the globe. This is more than a support role — it's an opportunity to design, build, and optimise systems that must remain secure, scalable, and highly available in some of the most demanding environments.

You'll work at the intersection of cloud architecture, automation, and observability, ensuring our platforms run smoothly and efficiently. From architecting AWS solutions and implementing high-availability strategies, to fine-tuning CI/CD pipelines and improving system observability, your work will directly enable faster innovation and higher reliability for our customers.

Collaboration is central to this role — you'll partner with software engineers, QA, and technical specialists to embed cloud-first thinking across the entire development lifecycle. By combining technical depth with problem-solving creativity, you'll help us continuously improve our infrastructure while setting the foundations for long-term scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain secure coding practices, conduct vulnerability scans, and apply threat mitigation strategies.

  • Troubleshoot and optimise network performance using diagnostic tools and protocol analysis.

  • Design and manage high-availability solutions, backups, and disaster recovery plans to maintain system uptime.

  • Monitor application and infrastructure health using observability tools (e.g., Datadog) for proactive issue detection and resolution.

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and updates using AWS CloudFormation templates following best practices.

  • Build, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to streamline development workflows.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • Certifcations in Security and or Networking

  • 2+ years experience automating infrastructure deployment using AWS CloudFormation templates and best practices.

  • Awareness of secure coding, vulnerability scanning, and threat mitigation to maintain a safe and compliant environment.

  • Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues.

  • Experience implementing high-availability solutions, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans to ensure uptime.

  • Proficiency in using monitoring, logging, and tracing tools (e.g., Datadog) to proactively identify and resolve issues.

  • Hands-on experience with tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions to streamline integration and delivery workflows.

Success Measures

Security & Compliance - Ensures vulnerabilities are identified and addressed promptly through secure coding and proactive threat mitigation.

Networking & Troubleshooting - Builds strong diagnostic practices and monitoring to quickly resolve connectivity and performance issues.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery - Maintains system uptime with reliable backup strategies and tested disaster recovery processes.

Observability - Uses monitoring, logging, and tracing tools to proactively detect, investigate, and resolve issues.

Infrastructure Automation - Delivers consistent, reliable environments through automated AWS CloudFormation deployments.

CI/CD & DevOps - Streamlines software delivery with efficient CI/CD pipelines that support faster and safer releases.
