Jacobi is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join our collaborative and diverse technology team. The Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for the operational effectiveness of Jacobi's information-security regime, designed to safeguard the company's commercial service and its global, multi-cloud infrastructure. Part of a team of engineers distributed among Brisbane, Sydney, London, and San Francisco as well as remote locations, the position is integral to the company's development and operations group.
You'll be joining a software development team in a fast-growing venture funded FinTech with blue-chip global financial services clients. This is a challenging and exciting role for someone who wants to experience technology development widely recognised as industry-disrupting within a fun and fast-paced environment. This is an ideal role for a Cloud Security Engineer with more than 5 years' experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud & Network Security: Maintain and improve security controls across our AWS cloud infrastructure, covering network, host, and service-level security
- Identity & Endpoint Management: Secure and administer our Microsoft ecosystem (Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra), managing the full identity lifecycle (on/offboarding), endpoint protection via Intune, and the secure integration of third-party applications.
- Threat Detection & Incident Response: Develop and manage a centralized SIEM for comprehensive monitoring; lead the incident response process, from proactive threat intelligence and investigation to remediation and business continuity coordination.
- Application Security: Work with engineering teams to embed security best practices and automated testing (SAST/DAST) into the software development process and CI/CD pipelines.
- Security Assurance & Vendor Risk: Manage security assurance programs, including external penetration testing, and lead security risk assessments for all third-party vendors and applications, with special attention to emerging technologies like AI.
- Policy & Compliance: Assist with the development of information security policies; act as a key technical contact for client due diligence, audits, and other commercial compliance matters.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, network management, and/or infosec roles, with a focus on practical controls (rather than policy development).
- Proven expertise in network infrastructure, Microsoft and AWS administration, and managing third-party cloud applications
- Experience in system monitoring, diligence and compliance matters, and incident response in a financial or similarly regulated industry
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Strong understanding of security best practices and operational efficiency in a cloud-based environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to effectively work distributed teams
