Experienced Medical Receptionist

We're on the lookout for a friendly, proactive, and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic and welcoming team.

Initial contacted hours would be approximately 8-16 hours per week, with the opportunity to pick up extra shifts and/or additional contracted hours.

As a key member of our team, you'll be supporting our general practitioners and clinical staff while ensuring our practice runs smoothly. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing excellent patient care, delivering a high level of customer service and capable of working in a busy, collaborative environment where every day is different.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with their check-in process.
  • Manage patient bookings and appointments, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Handle payments, HICAPS, Medicare claims, and banking reconciliation.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold a high level of integrity.
  • Provide efficient administrative support to the medical team.
  • Multitask and maintain a high level of organization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with the clinical team to ensure seamless operations.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Is familiar with Best Practice, and has previous experience in a general practice setting.
  • Has strong computer skills and is comfortable using a variety of office systems.
  • Displays empathy and a patient-centered focus, and a positive attitude towards both staff and patients.
  • Possesses excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Is reliable, adaptable, and a team player.
  • Is willing to cover shifts as required (including weekends and public holidays as needed).
