**Boronia Residential Aged Care** has 60 aged care residential beds and is located in Boronia, Victoria. We pride ourselves on delivering the best care for our residents and firmly believe that happy staff equates to happy residents.

**About the Role...**

**Food Services Assistant** are valued team members who report to the Cook/Chef and assist with preparation of food and hospitality services providing a high quality dining experience for our residents. This role will also back fill for the Cook/Chef as needed.

**Food Services Assistants** are responsible for providing a high standard of food safety in preparation and serving of meals and hospitality services in a residential aged care setting, including following directions from the Cook/Chef with kitchen cleaning, safe storage of foods, serving of meals to residents and assisting with preparation of specific dietary requirements for residents.

**We have casual bank shifts available, across a variety of (rostered) Monday to Sunday - AM, PM shifts.**

**About you...**

You are a highly organised, energetic and self-motivated individual - someone who can manage their time and be flexible to the need and priority. You'll have a high level of teamwork with colleagues, empathy and compassion too. Willing to learn and step up on occasion to the Cook/Chef position.

**To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following**:
Essential skills and competencies:

- A friendly and positive personality
- Effective communication skills
- Experience in hospitality, in aged care preferred
- A passion for working in aged care setting
- Food Safety Certificate
- Trade Certificate in Cookery
- Computer and documentation skills
- Understanding of Hygiene and Safety practices in aged care
- Current police check
- Evidence of Seasonal Influenza Vaccine
- Evidence of Covid vaccination

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

- Work experience of 6 months or more in aged care or Hospitality
- Certificate II or III in Hospitality
- An understanding of Aged Care Standards, continuous improvement, accreditation in Aged Care and ACFI requirements
- An understanding of Food Safety and OH&S in aged care
