Aboriginal Family Violence Support Worker
Full Time, 38 hours/week
Rotation Roster including weekends and overnight stays
This is an Aboriginal designated position, classified under special measures (Section 12) of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic).
In addition, in accordance with Section 26 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic), this role is designated for a female applicant due to cultural and gender-specific requirements associated with providing safe and appropriate support for Aboriginal women and children experiencing family violence.T

About the Role
The Aboriginal Family Violence Support Worker will work alongside the Specialist Aboriginal Family Violence Case Manager to deliver holistic, culturally safe support for women and children residing at Winyanboga Nangha .
This role operates on a rotational roster , including overnight and weekend shifts , to ensure consistent and responsive care within a culturally grounded environment.
About You
Cultural Knowledge and Community Understanding
You have a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, self-determination, and the local service environment for Aboriginal families and communities.
Knowledge of Family Violence
You bring experience providing culturally safe and responsive support within a family violence framework and understand the role of the law, justice, and service systems in supporting women and families.
Collaborative and Culturally Driven
You work effectively with others to build a safe, respectful, and inclusive practice environment that supports Aboriginal people and drives positive cultural change.
Self-Awareness and Reflection
You seek feedback, use it to strengthen your practice, and manage your wellbeing when working in challenging situations.
What We Offer:
- Competitive pay and conditions based on the SCHADS Crisis Accommodation Employee Award – Level 2 Pay Point 1-4 based on experience and qualifications.
