The Opportunity:

Are you ready to elevate your career to the next level? We're seeking a Lead Security Engineer to drive CTM's security engineering function, providing technical direction and oversight of security technology design, deployment, and optimisation. Working closely with IT, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Development teams to embed secure practices across systems and operations. Playing a key role in incident response, detection engineering, automation, and mentoring of security engineers.

Key accountabilities will include:

• Provide technical leadership and act as a subject matter expert for CTM's security technologies, guiding the Security Engineering team in best practices and strategic direction.
• Oversee the design, deployment, and optimisation of advanced security tooling such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, WAF, and NDR, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
• Lead the development of detection rules, correlation logic, and response playbooks to enhance CTM's threat detection and response capabilities.
• Manage and improve vulnerability management processes, from identification and risk assessment to remediation and executive-level reporting.
• Coordinate and lead incident response activities, including complex investigations and cross-team collaboration during security events.
• Drive automation across security operations to increase efficiency, reduce manual workload, and streamline key security processes.
• Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines, cloud workloads, and infrastructure, collaborating closely with DevOps, architecture, and development teams.
• Mentor and develop security engineers while contributing to long-term security strategy, capability building, and alignment with business risk objectives.

About you:

• 7+ years of experience in security engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership or mentoring role.
• Expert in cloud security architecture and controls across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
• Hands-on experience with key security tools, including SIEM, EDR/XDR, WAF, NDR, and vulnerability management platforms.
• Strong background in incident response, detection engineering, and threat hunting, with a focus on advanced threat detection and response.
• Proven track record of leading automation initiatives to improve efficiency in security operations and engineering workflows.
• Experienced in embedding security into DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines for secure software delivery.
• Skilled in scripting and automation, with experience in Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.
• Deep understanding of vulnerability management, from scanning and analysis to remediation and executive reporting.
• Excellent communicator and collaborator, with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across technical and business teams.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to align security initiatives with business risk and strategic goals.
