Role Brief: Data Analyst / Developer – Performance Insights

Our client is seeking a data professional to support the development and enhancement of a proprietary software platform focused on performance measurement and operational insights.

The role will work closely with senior leadership and product stakeholders, primarily focused on the platform, with scope to support consulting engagements where needed. Melbourne is preferred, but interstate candidates will be considered for the right fit.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Analytics reporting software (e.g. Power BI): Strong experience in building dashboards and visualisations.
  • SQL: Proficient in writing complex queries and managing data pipelines.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience working in or supporting a consulting environment, with the ability to operate in fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous contexts.
  • Understanding of operational contexts and performance improvement.
  • Cloud data warehouse experience (e.g., Snowflake or similar).
  • Coding/software development: Familiarity with scripting or software engineering practices (e.g., Python, R, etc.).
  • Process mining / analysis, machine learning, and database & infrastructure management (e.g., AWS, Azure, Postgres).
  • Experience with dbt (data build tool).

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 2–5 years of experience in data analytics, BI development, or software/data engineering.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, product-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
