The Role

Macquarie University Health is recruiting for a motivated and experienced Practice Manager to provide leadership in the day-to-day operations of our Cardiology and Nephrology Clinic. In this role, you will oversee a team of receptionist, all in an effort to build a high quality and professional service for patients. You will work closely with the relevant Clinic Directors/leads in providing professional management in our practices. Your leadership will create opportunities for you to network and work collaboratively with a wide range of staff as we support patients on their healthcare journey from community to acute inpatient care within a single organisation.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous healthcare or clinical team leadership experience. You will also have fantastic people management skills and a passion for service excellence in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

To Apply

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate the below requirements in your CV and a 1-2-page cover letter.

  • Experience in managing or coordinating a healthcare clinic or specialist practice
  • Proven leadership and staff management capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with medical professionals and patients
  • Demonstrated experience using electronic practice management systems (such as TrakCare, Genie or Best Practice).
  • Experience and ability in managing, motivating and supervising staff.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Understanding of Medicare and Private Health Insurance in Australia.
  • Demonstrated track record in managing clinic financial and operational performance.

Note: This position requires you to comply with occupational screening, assessment and vaccinations in line with Macquarie University Health requirements and requires a current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for NSW. You may also have to satisfy MQ Health that you meet all background checks (including criminal record and qualification checks).
