Credit Team Leader-St Marys

Reporting to the Credit Manager, the Credit Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the trade debt collections and accounts receivable team, ensuring efficient and effective credit control processes are maintained. This role plays a pivotal part in delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, while driving team performance and supporting business objectives. Providing accurate reporting weekly, monthly and as required and delivering accurate and timely information for both internal and external audit.
The Credit Team Leader is assigned a portfolio of customer accounts and is responsible for the efficient, accurate and effective collections of all amounts due, resolution of disputes, reconciliation of accounts to progress claims, minimise risk and proactive debt collection through effective relationships with both internal and external customers. Providing a high level of customer service to allow seamless supply of goods through effective collection strategies.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the Credit Team
- Provide coaching, mentoring and performance feedback to team members
- Ensure adequate staffing and coverage to meet operational needs
- Assist the Credit Manager in preparing regular and ad hoc reports
- Ensure payments are made in line with agreed payment terms
- Deliver high quality service to internal and external customers
- Act as a point of escalation for complex customer queries and disputes
- Ensure proper collection procedures are in place for overdue debt, utilizing the support of the Sales team to resolve invoices, issues and/or disputes
- Develop new systems and processes to streamline and achieve more effective ways of managing these key accounts (identifying best practice)

Skills and experience required:
- Knowledge of accounts receivable and a minimum 5 years experience in a Credit/Collections role, desirable
- Ability to develop and foster good working relationships
- Strong analytical skills
- Intermediate level MS Office – Word and Excel
- Exposure to ERP systems - SAP, JDE or Symix is preferred
- Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Take responsibility and be accountable for the customer experience
- Demonstrate an aptitude for leadership and a willingness to give and receive open feedback
