In this role, you'll:
You will be working as part of the Legal - Metro West team sitting within Sydney Metro, Legal & Audit Division.
This role will see you deliver high quality, timely and solutions focused legal services and independent advice for Sydney Metro, to support the achievement of organisational outcomes, minimise legal risk and deliver on our commitment to our customers, the people of NSW. Advice will be required to be provided in both the procurement and delivery phases of the Metro West projects. The project is high profile, complex and sensitive, with high financial, reputational, or operational risks.
Reporting to a Director, Legal you will be a Legal Counsel within the team.
Fixed Term Contract until 30th September, 2027

About you
You hold a practising certificate in NSW.You have a minimum of 4 years post qualifications experience in at least one of the following areas of law: general commercial law; infrastructure projects; construction; property or legislation administered by Sydney MetroYou have advanced written and verbal communication skills, able to convey legal concepts clearly and succinctly.You have experience handling complex matters with multiple stakeholders.You are an experienced drafter, negotiator, and communicator, who can work closely with clients to drive practical and commercially focussed outcomes.You are a resourceful person with a proactive working style, who can work autonomously and as part of a team.You have a passion for law and enjoy working on a diverse range of matters. You also enjoy working and collaborating as part of a hardworking and friendly team, including mentoring and developing junior lawyers and graduates within the team.Who we are
