UNIFORM ATTENDANT – Hamilton Island

Hamilton Island is now seeking a Uniform Attendant for the uniform room.

The uniform room is a busy and versatile outlet providing a range of services such as employee uniforms, alterations,  guest laundry, iron and steam press for weddings, stock control and more.

Where you'll make an impact

  • Provide and receive uniforms from employees
  • Ensure that employees looks professional according to HIE grooming standards
  • Perform opening and end of the day procedure on a daily basis 
  • Making alterations and repair to uniforms and other items when required
  • Laundry, ironing and steam press for guests, island outlets and private vessels
  • Ensure the store and equipment is kept clean, safe and tidy
  • Stock uniforms when required
  • Maintain accurate uniform stock records

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and the patience to work effectively with team members. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage time efficiently are essential in this role. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in commercial sewing and alterations, along with exceptional skills in laundry, ironing, and overall garment presentation. Basic computer skills are also important to support day-to-day administrative and scheduling tasks.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Sewing experience (desirable)
  • Excellent communications skills & patience
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management skills
  • Experience in commercial sewing and alterations
  • Excellent laundry, ironing and garment presentation skills
  • Basic computer skills
