Alamein FC is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and community-minded Canteen Manager to lead our game day canteen operations for the 2025 season. This is an exciting opportunity to play a hands-on role in supporting our players, families, and supporters while being part of a vibrant sporting community.

As a key member of our match day operations team, you'll ensure our canteen delivers high-quality food and friendly service that enhances the overall club experience for everyone who visits Alamein FC.

Position Overview

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food, enjoys being part of a busy sports environment, and thrives on creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. The Canteen Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of canteen operations during home games and selected club events

Hours:

Part-time – primarily Saturdays and Sundays during the football season (Feb–September), with occasional additional hours for club events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the canteen on match days.
  • Manage stock levels, including ordering, purchasing, and inventory control.
  • Ensure all food handling and safety standards are met in compliance with council and club requirements.
  • Coordinate and support a small team of volunteers to deliver efficient and friendly service.
  • Handle EFTPOS transactions, cash management, and daily reconciliations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented canteen environment at all times.
  • Contribute to the club's welcoming atmosphere and help create a great experience for our players, families, and supporters.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in café, hospitality, or food service management.
  • Barista experience or confidence in coffee preparation (highly regarded).
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide volunteers.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience in food preparation and customer service.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure and multitask during busy periods.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
  • RSA certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
