We are looking for
experienced Senior Sql Database Administrator
for a long-term contract with one of our Federal Government Clients.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience operating and supporting
    SQL Server clustered implementations and Azure SQL Managed Instances (SQL Server 2017–2022).
  • Expertise in performance
    tuning, troubleshooting
    , and
    optimization
    of
    SQL code.
  • Strong skills in T-SQL
    , stored procedures, and scripting.
  • Experience standardizing database design, naming conventions, and data documentation.
  • Proficiency in HA/DR management, Clustering,
    Availability Groups, Replication, and backup/recovery.
  • Demonstrated capability across on-premise
    , virtualized, and cloud SQL environments.
  • Skilled in designing, building, maintaining, and decommissioning database systems.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in
    data modelling
    ,
    Power BI
    , and other
    RDBMS
    (Postgres, MySQL, Ingres, Cosmos DB).
  • Familiarity with
    Linux environments
    .
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across distributed teams.
  • Ability to
    mentor and guide
    technical peers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee compliance and performance of the SQL Server database fleet.
  • Drive automation initiatives and improve repeatable database operations.
  • Ensure optimal delivery, maintenance, and support of
    SQL Server clustered
    and
    Azure SQL Managed Instance
    systems.
  • Manage
    database patching
    in compliance with
    ISM
    and AEC policy.
  • Maintain data repositories aligned with
    Cyber Security
    and
    Governance
    frameworks.
  • Collaborate with IT and Business teams to support election readiness and business improvement activities.
  • Provide
    after-hours escalation support
    on a roster basis.

Visa Status and Security Clearance

  • Candidates must be
    an
    Australian Citizen.
  • Candidates must have
    Baseline Security Clearance
    prior to engagement and
    ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance.
