The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Medical Officer Services Coordinator to join our Medical Workforce Unit. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee a key regional portfolio, providing expert advice and support on credentialing, recruitment, contract management, and policy implementation for Senior Medical Officers. With a strong focus on collaboration, leadership, and system optimisation, you'll also supervise support staff and manage critical SMO databases and platforms to ensure compliance and efficiency. A little about us.
Wollongong Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is the Illawarra Shoalhaven's major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
Wollongong is located an hour's drive south of Sydney on a narrow coastal strip bordered by the Royal National Park to the north, Lake Illawarra to the south, the Tasman Sea to the east and the Illawarra Escarpment to the west. - Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category B role.

This is a temporary parental leave relief position until 1 November 2026 with the possibility of an extension at same or reduced hours.
