Parklife Metro has been awarded the Sydney Metro SSTOM package, a $5 billion Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project that will transform Western Sydney. This major infrastructure package includes:

• Six brand-new metro stations from St Marys to the new Aerotropolis
• 12 new metro trains and core rail systems
• A state-of-the-art maintenance and stabling facility at Orchard Hills

The Opportunity: Senior Buyer – Sydney CBD

As a Senior Buyer, you will manage the sourcing and procurement of site requirements, ensuring compliance with Webuild Group policies and project procedures. You will support the Category Manager in procurement strategy, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiations to optimise cost, quality, and lead times, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and preparing recommendations to support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure goods and services to meet project requirements, ensuring compliance with Webuild Group and project procedures
• Support the Category Manager in defining procurement strategies, vendor lists and Requests for Proposal
• Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with suppliers, prepare bid evaluations and formalise purchase orders and agreements
• Conduct cost and technical assessments of supplier offers, prepare recommendations and secure approvals in line with budgets
• Manage and maintain positive supplier relationships, expediting deliveries to meet project deadlines
• Work with internal departments to identify procurement timelines and ensure accurate, timely deliverables
• Conduct market surveys to identify competitive suppliers, optimise lead times and achieve cost, quality and safety objectives

What We're Looking For

• Construction industry experience as a Senior Buyer on large-scale projects
• Proven experience sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships
• Preferably SAP Ariba
• Sound understanding of NSW Government Procurement Guidelines
• Excellent planning, problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, collaboration and team leadership abilities
• Flexible, process-oriented, and detail-focused approach.
