About the role

BlueNexus is hiring a Head of Engineering to lead our engineering organisation and partner with Product, Design, and the broader business to deliver secure, scalable AI products. You'll define the technology strategy, scale teams and systems, and run a high-quality delivery engine aligned to company goals.

Leadership & strategy

  • Define and drive the long-term engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with product, design, and business leaders to ensure technology decisions support company outcomes.

Technical oversight

  • Oversee architecture for scalability, performance, and security.
  • Uphold high standards for code quality, reliability, testing, and documentation.

Delivery & operations

  • Ensure predictable, high-quality software releases.
  • Champion DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Continually improve operational excellence, uptime, and customer satisfaction.

  • Manage engineering budgets, tooling, and vendor relationships.
  • Optimise resource allocation to balance speed, quality, and cost.

Qualifications & experience (required)
  • 10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years in engineering leadership.
  • Proven success leading large, distributed, or multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong technical background across cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, DevOps, and modern languages/frameworks.
  • Experience scaling systems and teams in a high-growth environment.
  • Excellent executive-level communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking.
