About the Role

As a member of our Estimating team in our East Brisbane office (4169), reporting to the Estimating Manager, your core responsibility is the preparation of the cost estimates for commercial Tender bids to ensure accuracy whilst identifying key risks and opportunities.

You will provide your estimating expertise on a wide variety of projects with your drive to excel.

This is your chance to secure a pipeline of iconic Queensland and New South Wales buildings for Australia's oldest construction company.

Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Preparation of tender bids up to $60m
  2. Analysing, evaluating and interpreting a range of complex and technical documents, including drawings and specifications, codes and standards
  3. Identifying risks and cost saving/value engineering opportunities without compromising on design integrity
  4. Engaging with clients and subcontractors and developing loyal and ongoing relationships

Your skills and experience

  1. Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  2. Minimum 3 years' experience in an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor within the Australian commercial construction market
  3. Knowledge of the local construction market, subcontractors, and local suppliers;
  4. A thorough understanding of construction methods
  5. Strong analytical and attention to detail skills
  6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  7. Effective communication and negotiation skills to interact with clients, suppliers, and team members.
