EMJC Earthmoving & Plant Hire has been operating since 2008, providing earthmoving plant for hire, heavy haulage and maintenance solutions for the mining, civil and construction industry.

The Role:

With branches located in Perth, Newman, Karratha and an onsite team in Collie, an opportunity has arisen for a strong leader to join the management team in the position of General Manager for the Transport division.

With a transport team of approximately 15 personnel and working with other divisional managers, this leadership role is responsible for all functions relating to both internal and external heavy haulage movements.

Whilst the role is predominantly based in Perth, this role does include regular travel to branches in the Pilbara.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Business development.
  • Compliance with all accreditation requirements, audits, safety and fatigue management.
  • Management of scheduling and planning to ensure maximum utilisation of personnel and assets.
  • Seek, prepare and submit divisional tenders and quotes.
  • Ensuring all commercial processes are followed to enable accurate and efficient billing.
  • Manage budgets across the transport division.
  • Provide support across the management team.

Essential criteria:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in transport management of heavy haulage fleet
  • Previous driving experience
  • Strong understanding of all compliance, statutory and legislative requirements
  • Strong scheduling, communication and computer sills
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands.
