Industrial and Employee Relations Specialist:

They are recruiting an Industrial and Employee Relations Specialist for a FT permanent role based in Melbourne to guide and support front-line leaders on workplace employment matters. Reporting to the Head of Industrial & Employee Relations, you will autonomously manage employee relations and investigations within a tight-knit HR team committed to collaboration and excellence. With your expertise, you will handle a dedicated caseload, delivering prompt, high-quality ER advice, coaching, and investigative support to leaders and HR colleagues across the business nationally.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver timely, high-quality ER advice and coaching to support leadership teams.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into workplace issues, including grievances, misconduct, bullying, harassment, or fraud.
  • Support enterprise agreement negotiations with union and employee representatives.
  • Prepare and manage documentation for tribunal and commission proceedings.
  • Represent the organisation in conciliations and dispute resolution processes.
  • Guide leaders with training on compliance, policies, and workplace procedures.
  • Address complex cases involving employee health or injury matters.
  • Monitor legislative updates, tribunal decisions, and industry trends to drive compliant, proactive ER strategies.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary degree along with proven experience in HR generalist or employee/industrial relations roles.
  • Strong expertise in managing or supporting investigations into workplace grievances or misconduct.
  • Exceptional coaching, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of ER/IR legislation, tribunal processes, and policy implementation.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills with a commercial focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple time-sensitive priorities effectively.
  • Track record of contributing to successful enterprise agreement implementations.
