About The Team
Join a team that's shaping the future of disaster adaptation and mitigation in NSW. The Flood, Coastal and Hazard Strategy Branch is the NSW Reconstruction Authority's central hub of technical hazard specialists, working at the forefront of disaster risk reduction through place-based disaster adaptation planning.

We lead a coordinated approach to understanding current and future natural hazard risks, bridging gaps in knowledge, and driving evidence-based solutions. From developing best-practice infrastructure and nature-based strategies to providing technical assurance for critical programs, our work directly influences how NSW prepares for and responds to disasters.

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We partner with councils, state and federal agencies, and private stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge analysis and practical solutions. Join us in making a real impact and thrive in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment.

About You
We're looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality support. You will have:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, briefs, and stakeholder updates.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with project management tools or methodologies.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting project delivery.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification and/or relevant knowledge and experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to projects that make a real difference in disaster adaptation, mitigation and community resilience across NSW. If you're passionate about supporting meaningful outcomes and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, we'd love to hear from you.
