Your role
Drive real change through smart delivery We're looking for a capable and motivated Project Officer to support the planning, design, and delivery of initiatives that improve environments for our frontline teams and the communities they serve.
As part of the Programs & Partnerships Communities team, you'll report to the Senior Program Manager and work closely with Program Managers to coordinate and implement a range of projects. You'll take ownership of smaller, less complex projects and provide hands-on support across larger projects and broader initiatives - from drafting project plans and managing financials to preparing reports and maintaining documentation.
You'll bring structure to momentum, helping projects move from concept to completion with clarity and purpose. You will ensure every project is delivered on time, on budget, and within scope, aligned with our established project delivery framework and practices.
What You'll Do
You'll be at the centre of project activity - supporting delivery, managing documentation, and helping teams stay aligned and informed. You'll contribute to planning and implementation, coordinate resources, and ensure project milestones are tracked and reported with clarity and precision.
Your Work Will Span Across Multiple Areas, Including
- Supporting Program Managers with planning, design, development, and implementation of assigned projects
- Managing smaller-scale projects independently, ensuring delivery meets time, budget, and quality standards
- Preparing reports, briefs, and project documentation to support monitoring, evaluation, and decision-making
- Coordinating working groups, committees, and consultation forums to facilitate stakeholder engagement
- Sourcing and compiling data to track progress, identify emerging issues, and report against milestones
- Assisting with procurement activities, raising purchase orders, and tracking financials across projects
- Undertaking research and analysis to identify trends and prepare project briefs
You'll be working in a collaborative, agile environment with a team that values initiative, quality, and continuous improvement. Your success will be measured by your ability to deliver high-quality outputs, manage competing priorities, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a detail-oriented Project Officer with experience supporting project delivery and a strong grasp of structured project management practices. You'll be confident managing smaller projects independently, while also contributing to larger initiatives with professionalism and precision.
You Bring
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities
- Experience in preparing reports, coordinating governance activities, and maintaining accurate records
- A collaborative mindset and clear communication skills to engage stakeholders and support project teams
- Familiarity with procurement processes and financial tracking
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
You'll know you're succeeding when your deliverables are timely and high quality, your documentation is accurate and up to date, and your contributions are recognised across the team and by stakeholders.
Some regional travel may be required to support project activities.
A valid NSW drivers' licence is required.
