About the role

Barkus Doolan Winning is looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team in our Sydney CBD office. In this full-time position, you will provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to our legal professionals, ensuring the smooth running of our matters and our practice.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support to solicitors, including diary management and meeting coordination
  • Liaising with clients, barristers and other solicitors.
  • Supporting solicitors in drafting and proofreading correspondence, reports, and legal documents
  • Maintaining and organising electronic filing systems
  • Answering and screening incoming calls, and providing exceptional client service
  • Assisting with the coordination of client meetings and events

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Legal Assistant. Previous experience in Family Law and/or working with the court system is preferred.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to type at a high speed. Experience with legal practice management software is also advantageous
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a professional, courteous manner
  • A team-oriented approach and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
