To ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our diverse stakeholders, the Learning Innovation team is looking to enhance student engagement with sports, promoting health and wellbeing. With a focus on supporting the Diocesean Primary and Secondary Sports Program, we are now seeking a passionate Sports Competition Convenor to join our team on a temporary part-time basis, commencing Term 1, 2026.

About the opportunity

The Sports Competition Convenor is part of the Learning Outcomes team, reporting to the Sports Program Coordinator.

This is a 0.6 FTE role and you will be expected to work 3 days per week. Actual working days per week will be negotiated with the Sports Program Coordinator and may vary from week to week based upon the CSPD Primary Sports Calendar of Events. Your office will be based in Aengus Kavanagh Centre, Mt Druitt NSW.

More specifically you will be

  • Assisting with the coordination of Gala days and Pathway sporting events
  • Developing and/or maintaining official CSPD sporting records and reports
  • Liaising with school principals and sports coordinators
  • Facilitating meetings, managing appeals and sport specific issues
  • The engagement of students as officials to promote personalised pathways for students
  • Contributing to promotion and delivery of the CSPD Primary Sports Program
  • Contributing to the continuous evaluation of CSPD Primary Sports program
  • Additional duties as required.

About you

To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment to the values of CSPD along with:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Education
  • NESA Accreditation
  • Working with Children Check clearance
  • Current Senior First Aid & CPR
  • Strong knowledge of Sports
  • Previous experience in event organisation (desired)
  • Be able to travel between schools and venues
  • Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative teamwork.
  • Sound knowledge of and commitment to our Catholic faith and mission in Catholic education.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules when required
  • Ability to spend a week with the CSPD Sport Team during term 4, 2025 (ideally 8th - 12th December)
