About the Role:
This role (12 Month Maxium Term Contract) is central to implementing the recommendations of a recent Workforce Optimisation Review. You'll be responsible for leading a defined program of work, improving systems and strategies that support compliance, performance and workforce planning across the organisation. From patron-facing to back of house, business support to facilities management and maintenance and across every function and discipline of State Sport Centres, our workforce is the essential ingredient.
Working closely with leaders and teams across the business, you'll lead the implementation of improvements to how we roster, recruit, manage and develop our people, all while supporting operational excellence and a strong workplace culture.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading the implementation of a defined program of work focused on workforce efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment
- Through program delivery, driving improvements in job design, rostering, recruitment, performance management, and compliance to support consistent and scalable people practices
- Informing improvements to our HRIS, ensuring functionality supports effective workforce planning, scheduling, and reporting
- Applying contemporary workforce planning methodologies and tools to enable accurate forecasting, modelling and data-informed decision-making
- Ensuring workforce data is accurate, reliable and used effectively for planning, risk identification and strategic reporting
- Advising on organisational change, support capability uplift across operational teams, and help embed new processes and systems
- Acting as a key link between People & Culture, Venue Operations, and executive stakeholders
Required skills and Qualifications:
- Experience leading workforce strategy or optimisation projects, ideally in complex environments
- Strong understanding of workforce planning, workforce data, and HR systems
- Solid working knowledge of employment legislation and industrial instruments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders
- A collaborative, proactive approach and the ability to balance strategic and hands-on work
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, workforce analytics or a related field
