Skala Bakery is an iconic South Australian brand, renowned for our artisan breads, pastries, and baked goods. We are looking for a talented Qualified Pastry Cook to join our dynamic production team and contribute to delivering the highest quality products to our retail and wholesale customers.
About the Role:
You will work alongside a skilled team in our state-of-the-art production facility, preparing and producing a wide range of pastries, tarts, cakes, and specialty baked goods. This role is hands-on and requires a passion for quality, creativity, and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare, bake, and finish a variety of pastries and desserts to Skala's high standards
· Follow recipes and production schedules to meet daily targets
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment in line with food safety requirements
· Monitor ingredient quality and report any issues to the Head Pastry Chef
· Contribute ideas for new products and seasonal specials
· Work collaboratively with the production team to ensure efficiency and consistency
Skills & Experience:
· Trade qualification in Patisserie or equivalent
· Minimum 3 years' experience in a commercial bakery, patisserie, or similar environment
· Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and ingredient handling
· Ability to work early mornings and weekends as required
· Attention to detail with a focus on quality and presentation
· Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
