This role is a
6 month paternity relief
cover for a Principal Directional Studies based in our Brisbane group office.
About the Role
As Principal – Directional Studies, you will be instrumental in delivering strategic and conceptual studies that shape Evolution Mining's long-term direction. Operating within Group Technical Services, you will provide high-level technical input across a range of initiatives, supporting both strategic planning and tactical execution.
- Lead the development and delivery of Asset Full Potential (AFP) studies and other strategic evaluations including energy and value optimisation.
- Facilitate workshops to support strategic planning and ensure alignment across Group functions.
- Develop and maintain systems and processes for study execution, including financial modelling and compliance tracking.
- Drive innovation by identifying and applying emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Support technical due diligence for M&A activities, including site visits and risk/opportunity assessments.
- Act as an independent reviewer for strategic plans and development studies, ensuring rigour and alignment with business objectives.
This role requires a high level of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence across multiple disciplines and time horizons.
About You
You are a senior technical professional with deep experience in metalliferous operations and a strong understanding of strategic planning and project evaluation. You bring a collaborative mindset and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy or a related field; postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
- Have at least 10 years' experience in mining engineering, processing, or technical services, ideally within precious metals.
- Demonstrated success in delivering technical studies, transformation projects, and strategic initiatives.
- Skilled in mine planning systems, economic evaluation, and project management.
- Able to work across short- and long-term planning horizons, managing complexity and translating strategy into action.
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
