Operations Manager
to oversee daily delivery, crew management, and project performance.

Role Overview

The Operations Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of all Grind & Patch Queensland operations. This role ensures that crews, materials, and equipment are coordinated efficiently, defects are closed out professionally, and builder expectations are exceeded every time.

You will be the central link between site crews, management, clients, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations & Scheduling

• Plan and schedule daily/weekly works including patching teams, grinding crews, and defect response.
• Allocate manpower, tools, diamond equipment, and specialised repair materials across sites.
• Ensure job sheets, photos, and documentation are completed by all team members.
• Monitor crew productivity and adjust schedules to meet builder deadlines.

Project Delivery & Site Management

• Oversee defect rectification, grind/patch preparation, slab repairs, and handover works.
• Conduct site visits to assess work quality, measure scopes, and confirm rectification strategies.
• Coordinate access, site readiness, and sequencing with builders and site managers.
• Identify site risks and ensure appropriate corrective actions are in place.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all work complies with AS standards, builder specifications, and site requirements.
• Implement and maintain SWMS, safety procedures, and task-specific PPE requirements.
• Complete site audits, quality checks, and sign-offs.
• Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and implement improvements.

Workforce Leadership

• Manage, train, and support patchers, grinders, labourers, and team leaders.
• Conduct onboarding, performance reviews, and skills development.
• Build a high-performance culture centred around safety, quality, and accountability.
• Manage leave, rosters, and workforce allocation across multiple projects.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Communicate clearly with builders, site supervisors, and project managers.
• Attend site coordination meetings when required.
• Provide updates, progress reports, and timelines to clients.
• Build and maintain strong business relationships to secure repeat work.

Financial & Operational Performance

• Track labour hours, job costs, material usage, and project profitability.
• Support the preparation of invoices, variations, and scope breakdowns.
• Work with management on operational budgeting and forecasting.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions.

Skills & Experience Required

• 3+ years in an Operations, Site Supervisor, or Leading Hand role within concrete repair, patching, grinding, or commercial remedial works.
• Strong understanding of defect rectification, grinding prep, slab repairs, and architectural patching.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple crews and sites simultaneously.
• Strong organisation, planning, and time management.
• Solid understanding of WHS, defect processes, and commercial construction requirements.
• Competency with job tracking software, digital logs, and photo documentation.
